ZYGO-MEDICINE AND MYSTICISM: A Discussion of Psychedelic Drugs, Rastafarianism and Spirituality

Thursday, January 18 at 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Doheny Memorial Library (DML), 233
3550 Trousdale Parkway, Los Angeles, CA 90089

While many nontraditional practices such as mindfulness, meditation, and yoga have found their way into mainstream healthcare, other practices connected to psychedelic drugs, Rastafarianism, and spirituality are more closely scrutinized by physicians and public health professionals. Is there a place for these practices in modern medicine? What are potential moral, legal, and health concerns? Moreover for physicians, what is the best way to consider such practices and their place in modern medicine? Join us, as we discuss all of these questions and more!
