https://dornsife.usc.edu/emsi/seminar-series/wmq-emsi-workshop-2023/The WMQ-EMSI Workshop Series is designed to identify and encourage new trends in our understanding of the history and culture of early North America. It fosters intellectual exchange among scholars working on thematically related topics that may be chronologically, geographically, or methodologically diverse. The participants are primarily mature scholars working on second or subsequent book projects; they share their works in progress with the aim of deepening and enriching their perspectives, their approaches, and ultimately the final products of their research.
The 2023 WMQ-EMSI Workshop, convened by Christine Desan (Harvard Law School), centers on the theme "Money in Vast Early America." Presenters include Andrew Edwards (Princeton Univeristy), Farley Grubb (University of Delaware), Andrew Konove (University of Texas, San Antonio), Simon Middleton (William & Mary), Katie Moore (Univeristy of California, Santa Barbara), Sharon Murphy (Providence College), Tawny Paul (UCLA), and Kimberly Welch (Vanderbilt University).
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
