About this Event
Join us at the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) program's STEM Bytes Seminar to hear research done at USC by current PhD students and postdocs.
Speakers:
Anna Haynie, PhD Student in Physics & Astronomy
Shock Breakout in Dense Circumstellar Material
Anna Haynie is a 4th year PhD student working with Dr. Anthony Piro at Carnegie Observatories. She studies exotic transients, both analytically and numerically, to understand what kinds of stars create different kinds of supernovae. Outside of her own research, she is passionate about the accessibility of science and science communication, which is why she participates in the Skype a Scientist and Letters to a Pre-Scientist programs.
Mahsa Rezeiyan, PhD Student in Chemistry
Frances Yau, PhD Student in Chemistry
Development of Spray-on Thermoresponsive Wound Healing Dressing
Mahsa Rezeiyan is a 4th year PhD student in Chemistry working in the application of the hydrogel for biomedical applications.
Frances Yau is a first year PhD student in chemistry in the Mark Thompson Group. She is studying thermoresponsive hydrogels with biomedical applications. Currently, she is studying dopamine-based monomers for crosslinking within the hydrogels.
