From Rod Hanners, Interim CEO, Keck Medicine of USC and Laura Mosqueda, MD, Dean, Keck School of Medicine of USC

On Friday, June 5, 10 am, we encourage you to stand alongside your colleagues as we meet outside for 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence to show our solidarity for racial equality and justice for all. Please join us if your schedule permits.

You are welcome to take a knee if you like and stay for part or all of the duration, as time allows. This part of a national remembrance for George Floyd taking place at medical centers across the country and ties into the White Coats for Black Lives initiative.

At the Health Sciences Campus, we will meet at two locations:

  • Keck Hospital: plaza between HC1 and HC2
  • Keck School of Medicine campus: Pappas Quad

At USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, we will meet:

  • Fourth-floor patio near executive offices

Please remember to wear a mask while maintaining six-foot social distancing.

If you cannot join in person, feel free to take a photo and post to your social media channels with the hashtag #whitecoats4blacklives and tag @KeckMed and/or @keckschoolusc.

We look forward to joining together.
