What Matters to Me & Why is a monthly talk and discussion series featuring USC faculty and administrators.  The speaker for our kick-off event for this year is Patrick Prince, chief threat assessment officer at the University.  He is responsible for assessing the risk of violence and coordinating university-wide threat management.  Prior to USC, he provided consultation to government, educational and private organizations on more than 2,500 cases of violence or threatening situations.  He participates in the FBI initiative for "best practices" in preventing violence at institutions of higher education.  He has provided consultation and training to institutions including California State University the University of Nebraska, Penn State University and Cal Tech.  He is a certified threat manager and on the board for the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
