If you have ever heard about “private equity” you may know of its reputation as one of the most mysterious and difficult industries to break into. But what does a private equity firm really do? What makes private equity different from venture capital and other investment vehicles? How do they impact the market and the broader world? How do you build a career in the industry?
Join USC alumni Hasan Askari on January 26th to learn more about the world of private equity and how he cofounded his own firm – K1 Investment Management. Today, K1 is one of the largest and fastest growing private equity firms in LA with over 140 completed investments and billions of dollars under management. K1 invests exclusively in the software market and has grown to be the dominant investor in the lower mid-market. During this session, Hasan (Managing Partner & Co-Founder) will share more about his journey into private equity from USC, what it is like investing in the early stage technology market, and K1’s unique culture and philosophy.
K1 is one of the few firms in the industry that hire students directly out of undergrad and is particularly motivated to hire Trojans (over 10% of the firm today are USC alumni). We have opportunities available for students from all backgrounds/interests with positions available in sales, marketing, finance, recruiting, consulting, operations, business development and more. Even for those still figuring out what they want to do long-term, K1 offers a great opportunity to truly understand what goes into running a successful business and to rapidly develop your career!
