Tissue homeostasis and regeneration are sustained by many individual stem cells. Using mouse hematopoietic stem cells as a primary model, we will present our recent discoveries on the quantitative differences between individual stem cells and how different stem cells coordinate with each other in blood regeneration. We will also discuss cellular heterogeneity in hematopoietic aging and leukemia from a single cell perspective using primary mouse and human cells.
