Beyond ATP (catabolism) and metabolite production (anabolism), our work has demonstrated that mitochondria control cell fate/function (signaling) to control physiology. Disruption of mitochondria signaling can result in diseases. I will discuss our ongoing efforts to elucidate mitochondria as signaling organelles.
