Dr. Bonventre will discuss the protocol his lab developed for human pluripotent stem cell-derived ureteric buds with characterized collecting duct epithelia. They then derived a collecting duct principal cell line which is hormonally responsive and generates a transepithelial amiloride-sensistive voltage. By induction of Foxi1 we convert the principal cells to cells with intercalated cell phenotypes including the induction of many components of the V-ATPase.
