In the first part of this talk, Dr. Shendure will discuss our efforts to develop and apply new technologies to understand the embryonic development of the mouse. In particular, he will describe our development and application of single cell combinatorial indexing to mouse embryos of different ages, followed by computational analysis of the resulting data to infer the transcriptional trajectories by which mouse cell types diversify, as well as the transcription factors that drive that diversification. In the second part of the talk, he will describe the progress with a new generation of technologies for lineage and molecular recording, called DNA Typewriter and ENGRAM, that he anticipates will be applicable to mice and other model organisms.
