"Why the Senior Brain Needs Junior Neurons"
Hippocampal neurogenesis plays important roles in learning and memory in rodents. However, the existence of neurogenesis in the adult human brain has been controversial. Further, the fate of neurogenesis in Alzheimer’s disease and its relation to memory loss is not fully understood. This seminar will shed light on the current knowledge of the role of hippocampal neurogenesis in Alzheimer's disease mouse models and human patients.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
