"A Vertebral Skeletal Stem Cell Driving Spine Metastases"
The Greenblatt lab has identified that skeletal stem cells are actually a family of related cells with different locations and functions, including distinct stem cells on the inside and outside of bones (Debnath et al. Nature 2018), distinct vertebral vs long bone stem cells (Sun et al. Nature 2023), and multiple stem cells in the calvarium that interact to mediate normal calvarial growth (Bok et al. Nature 2023).
