Although the U.S. spends much more on health care than other developed countries, it remains in last place for healthcare access and quality rankings among peer countries. Americans are also generally less healthy. Population health is an interdisciplinary, customizable approach that allows health departments to connect practice to policy for change to happen locally. This approach utilizes non-traditional partnerships among different sectors of the community—public health, industry, academia, health care and more—to achieve positive health outcomes. This Town Hall Talk will provide an overview of the USC School of Pharmacy’s engagement in population health initiatives and its benefits to patients, the healthcare system and the future of pharmacy.
