  Admiral (RADM) Pamela Schweitzer was appointed to the Chief Pharmacist Of
 ficer of the United States Public Health Service (PHS) with a temporary pr
 omotion to the Assistant Surgeon General. As Chief Pharmacist Officer\, RA
 DM Schweitzer is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of 
 PHS pharmacy programs and professional affairs for the Office of the Surge
 on General and the Department of Health & Human Services.\n\nThroughout he
 r pharmacy career RADM Schweitzer has served in varied assignments\, progr
 essing in leadership responsibilities in the Indian Health Service (IHS)\,
  Veterans Administration (VA) and currently with the Centers for Medicare 
 and Medicaid Services (CMS). RADM Schweitzer began her Corps career with t
 he Indian Health Service (IHS) at the Pine Ridge Indian Hospital in South 
 Dakota followed by geographic and programmatic moves reflecting increasing
  responsibility and leadership. Her VA service was with the VA Medical Cen
 ter Hot Springs in South Dakota. Her current duty station with CMS is in B
 altimore\, MD. All of these experiences have allowed her to develop lastin
 g partnerships that ultimately improved federal pharmacists serving the mi
