Join Dr. Jermaine Jones, Associate Professor of Clinical Neurobiology in Psychiatry at Columbia University, for the next virtual IAS Speaker Series event. Studies demonstrating the significant interaction between drugs of abuse and glia have provided clinical investigators with novel targets in their efforts to develop medications to treat substance use disorders. New and existing medications that affect glial activity have been investigated for their ability to treat various aspect of drug use, from craving to withdrawal. This talk will present a series of studies by Columbia's Division on Substance Use Disorders to assess the the utility of glial modulators in treating various aspects of opioid use disorder.
