About this Event
380 E. Shoreline Drive, Long Beach, CA 90802
https://forms.gle/GDXNVdWMCyd7pBsh9We are gearing up for our next beach cleanup, and this one is extra special in honor of Earth Day! We are collaborating with the Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies, Assignment Earth, and Annenberg Civic Engagement to make this our BIGGEST CLEANUP TO DATE!
We will be cleaning Alamitos Beach from 9:30-11:30 am on Sunday, April 23, 2023. In the last two cleanups, we have collected over 70,000 items, so we are hoping to beat our record. Feel free to share this event with anyone who is interested!
We will provide all required items for this cleanup. Parking is convenient and the metro line stops just a short walk from the beach (takes about an hour from campus on the metro). Additionally, there are a lot of restaurants nearby for lunch after the cleanup.
If you would like to join us, please sign up here: https://forms.gle/vosTBht48HRg2xtP8
We will have prizes for the top collecting teams for this cleanup (at least the top three teams, maybe more!) Additionally, we will be wearing our Trojan themed Beach cleanup shirt (pictures in the Google Form above), designed by our 2022 Wrigley Institute Environmental Communications Summer Intern, Alex Palakian.
Thank you for considering joining our mission. We will send out information to those who volunteer closer to the day.
