"Investigating and Modeling Respiratory Diseases Using Lung Stem Cells"

Unlike several other tissues and organs in the body, the adult lung is a quiescent organ whose ability to effectively regenerate after injury is unclear, despite evidence of repair in small animal models of lung injury. I will share examples of modeling respiratory diseases using human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived lung progenitors, and our efforts to elucidate the signaling pathways involved in adult lung injury and repair.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
