DORIS BERGER, Vice President, Curatorial Affairs, Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, will lead the exhibition tour. Regeneration: Black Cinema 1898–1971 explores the visual culture of Black cinema in itsmanifold expressions, from its early days to just after the civil rights movement.The exhibition is a research-driven, in-depth look at Black participation in American cinema revealing the important and underrecognized history of African American filmmakers.
Capacity is limited, and advanced RSVP to vsri@usc.edu is required. Following the tour, participants are invited to join us for dinner at Canter’s Deli.
