Through five targeted initiatives, the Innovation Catalyst Program offers funding and hands-on opportunities tailored to a range of innovation and commercialization needs:

Innovation Empowerment – Offers $15,000 to support pioneering, use-inspired research and entrepreneurial efforts that connect discovery with market readiness.

Stevens Translation Catalyst offers $25,000–$50,000 to help advance USC-owned intellectual property through validation or proof-of-concept work, positioning technologies for licensing, investment, or startup creation.

Startup Launch – Awards up to $50,000 to support USC-affiliated founders with essential early-stage needs — from legal incorporation and IP protection to core business services.

Early Career Innovator – Provides $5,000 for USC students to gain hands-on startup experience by working with USC-affiliated ventures for three months. Early Career Innovator – Techstars – Offers $5,000 and a unique opportunity for USC students to work directly with startups participating in the USC Techstars Accelerator.
