Hosted by AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles and Minority Renewable Energy Project of California, this innovative conference will bring together over 200 urban Angelenos with multifamily developers, homeowners, commercial property owners, small business leaders, workforce professionals, and community advocates to explore the impact of climate change, the urgency of energy resiliency, and the vital role of diverse leadership as LA County begins to heal and rebuild from the devastating effects of the recent wildfires.
Held in honor of Earth Day 2025, the Urban Renewable Energy Summit is a unique event dedicated to advancing climate resilience, energy equity, and sustainable innovation within Los Angeles County's urban marketplace.
The Inaugural LA County Urban Renewable Energy Summit is a pivotal event focused on educating and empowering LA County’s Black and Brown residents and business owners about the emerging opportunities within California's Green and Blue Economies. These vital sectors, which include solar energy, marine sciences, and environmental justice, are central to California's push toward sustainable innovation.
Taking place on April 12th ahead of Earth Day, the Summit’s theme is "Reclaiming Our Sun and Water," which will celebrate the historic and current contributions of leaders of color in environmental advocacy and renewable energy, while also emphasizing the importance of advocating for an equitable and “just transition” to sustainable practices for all Angelenos.
Through engaging discussions and a community expo, the Summit will bring together industry leaders, government representatives, educators, small businesses, and passionate community-based organizations that are all dedicated to making real-world impact in LA County’s emerging Green and Blue economic sectors.
With a focus on sustainable development, and emerging educational and career pathways, this Summit will advance the creation of “energy equity” pathways within Los Angeles County and beyond.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
