Trojan ShakeOut Drill - Campus wide

Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 10:19am to 10:20am

Are you really prepared?  What we do now, before a big earthquake, will determine what our lives will be like afterwards. According to recent studies by seismologists, Southern California is overdue for a major earthquake.

The annual Trojan ShakeOut Drill will take place on October 19, 2017 @ 10:19am (10/19 @ 10:19). Led by the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) headquartered at USC, the purpose of this drill is to promote awareness about what to do before, during, and after an earthquake.

In conjunction with the statewide Great California ShakeOut drill, at 10:19am, every USC student, faculty member, and staff member is urged to practice DROP, COVER, and HOLD for 60 seconds in all offices, classrooms, labs, medical facilities, dorms and homes.  A team of Trojan ShakeOut Ambassadors are helping to spread the word about the ShakeOut, share earthquake preparedness information, and facilitate the Drop, Cover and Hold drill in each building.
