  at Debs Park will lead a birding walk for USC students\, who will view An
 na’s hummingbird\, California scrub-jays\, and other species native to S
 outhern California. Nestled within the 282-acre Ernest E. Debs Regional Pa
 rk\, the Center is a natural jewel in the heart of Los Angeles that is hom
 e to over 140 species of birds and has inspired a love of nature in over a
  quarter of a million residents of Los Angeles.\n\nThis event is part of a
  series held in conjunction with The Vanishing Worlds of Audubon\, on disp
 lay in Doheny Memorial Library’s Treasure Room from March 3–May 31\, 2
 023\, illuminating the works of artists and scientists who are addressing 
 the challenges of avian extinction\, habitat destruction\, and the ever-gr
 owing threat of global climate change\, along with items that highlight th
 e complex history behind the illustrious artist\, naturalist\, and ornitho
 logist John James Audubon.\n\nBio:\n\nAs center director at the Audubon Ce
 nter at Debs Park\, Marcos Trinidad has nurtured a growing community of vo
 lunteers\, youth\, and community partnerships\; implemented a facility and
  grounds improvement plan\; and partnered with the National Park Service t
 o establish a vibrant native plant nursery. He was recognized in 2017 by t
 he North American Association for Environmental Education as the recipient
  of the Rosa Parks and Grace Lee Boggs Award for his leadership in environ
