The Great Wall of Los Angeles at 40: Guided Walking Tour

This event has been rescheduled from Saturday, April 13.

Admission is free and open to current USC students only, who must use the provided transportation to participate. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Check-in for the event will begin at 9:30 a.m. on campus. Buses will depart at 10 a.m. and return to campus at 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

USC students are invited to experience The Great Wall of Los Angeles firsthand and gain a fuller appreciation for the power of public art and the stories it tells. Artists from the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) will lead a walking tour of Judy Baca’s stunning, half-mile-long collaborative artwork that is one of the longest murals in the world. The artists will share their perspectives on the vibrant and expansive panels of the iconic Great Wall, which was started in 1974 and is noted for capturing the diverse cultural heritage, social movements, and rich history of California and Los Angeles, and provide insight on sections that are currently in progress.
