About this Event
STU 101 / 3601 Trousdale Parkway, Suite 101
In summer 2024 the USC Libraries hosted five USC students to work with our library faculty on research with primary source materials at the intersection of history and sustainability. Throughout the spring semester, the students will present the results of their work at a series of brown bag lunch talks in USC’s Sustainability Hub at the center of campus.
On March 12th, join us as DAVID DE ROZAS, a PhD student in the USC School of Cinematic Arts, who is researching the history of urban transformation in downtown Los Angeles, presents 'the underloved', a 16mm practice based research project inspired by 1960s archival images of Bunker Hill’s demolition. This media device serves as a speculative cinematic structure to resist urban amnesia and reimagine downtown Los Angeles as both a site of historical violence and an evolving space of possibility.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
