 4\, 2021\, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. \n\nAs a new legislative session is un
 derway\, our country faces challenges on the domestic and international hu
 manitarian front. Global refugee resettlement numbers have shrunk in recen
 t years. The COVID-19 global pandemic has exacerbated the underlying vulne
 rabilities of displaced populations\, including women and girls. Asylum se
 ekers\, refugees\, and internally displaced people (IDPs) often face enorm
 ous obstacles in gaining access to life-saving assistance and protection. 
 Additional support and attention are needed for the more than 80 million p
 eople displaced globally because of persecution\, conflict\, and violation
