SSI BROWN BAG: USING REALITY MODELING TO RAPIDLY GENERATE TERRAIN DATASETS

Tuesday, January 26 at 12:30pm to 1:30pm

This is a past event.
Virtual Event

Researchers from the USC Spatial Sciences Institute and the USC Institute for Creative Technologies are using advancements in reality modeling to create
immersive 3D models that provide detailed understanding of physical environments.

By integrating geospatially enabled datasets captured with unmanned aerial systems with the ability to generate scalable, mesh-based 3D models in gaming
platforms, users can interact with and operate in accurate, virtual worlds.

Learn how the USC’s modeling and simulation terrain team are revolutionizing the interoperability of terrain datasets, and about the opportunities for students to learn and conduct research at the intersection of geospatial sciences; human security; gaming, modeling and simulation; and geospatial intelligence.
