In this immersive course, students will explore core concepts and methods of Geodesign, focusing on how geographic knowledgeand geospatial technologies can help shape a mor sustainable future. Led by Dr. Guoping Huang, Associate Professor (Teaching) at USC's Spatial Sciences Instituteand an expert in GlobalGeodesign, this program offers intensive living-learning research and field experiences.
Students will have the opportunity to engage with the vibrantcultures if Accra and Winneba, Ghana, while working near the beautiful MuniLagoon, a UNESCO WorldHeritage and Ramsar Site.As part of the course, students will collaborate with localcommunities in Winneba to apply the Geodesign framework, strategies and GIS technologies toward creating a comprehensive lagoon conservation plan.
