Dr. Elisabeth Root is an Associate Professor in the Geography Department (College of Arts and Sciences) and the Division of Epidemiology (College of Public Health) at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. Dr. Root is also affiliated with the Translational Data Analytics Program and the Institute for Population Research.
Interests: Human health and disease, disease ecology, global public health, program evaluation, spatial statistics, and GIS.
Current Research: The socio-environmental drivers of communicable diseases (such as pneumonia and cholera), evaluating health programs in the U.S. and in developing countries using spatial methodologies; major international health projects (Bangladesh, Honduras, Philippines, Indonesia) as well as two research initiatives in the United States.
