Moderated by Dr. Brittany Friedman, this virtual summit will examine how the field of social innovation – including both processes and models of social innovation – can be used to reverse the centuries-long history of racism and economic discrimination within the criminal legal system. A number of social innovation models are currently underway to address various components of the criminal legal system; many social impact bonds target criminal justice and recidivism outcomes and processes of co-production and co-creation can illuminate more equitable and effective alternatives to the current criminal legal system.
