About this Event
Our SMBC Meet and Greet Series is for all students seeking a 2024 internship or analyst opportunity with our firm. Each session will consist of overviews of the various groups that hire into our programs led by the business members themselves followed by an open-forum Q&A session. Since each session will be different, students are encouraged to attend as many as they like.
Strategic Credit Products - Lenders Finance Group
The Lender Finance Group provides financing to financial institutions primarily engaged in middle-market leveraged lending. LFG activities support both permanent financing for loan asset manager portfolios as well as warehouse financing for CLOs which are arranged by Nikko. The group has provided $10 billion in asset-based or corporate facilities across ~15-20 counterparties.
Transaction Banking
Transaction Banking (TRBD) works extensively across SMBC’s global footprint, throughout major markets such as the United Kingdom and the EU, APAC and mainland Asia, as well as North and South America. TRBD serves its clients via technology platforms and provides a suite of traditional cash management services.
Quantitative Strategists
The internship resides in our Capital Markets Front Office Quantitative Strategy team and provides quantitative support in terms of model building, implementation, application building, and documentation, trading strategy development and optimization, as well as providing pricing and risk management advice to traders and marketers.
