Event Description: Our SMBC Meet and Greet Series is a unique opportunity to meet and interact with the various business areas that hire interns and analysts. This session will feature overviews of five business groups followed by a Q&A session. Note: You are welcome to attend as many of the Meet and Greet sessions as you like. Corporate and Investment Banking Coverage (CIBC) - Corporate Solutions Group (CSG) & Lending Management Group (LMG) Corporate and Investment Banking Coverage (CIBC) works with multinational clients headquartered in the U.S. to support their growing business needs. We leverage our network of relationships across the globe and our model is cross-functional, so our customers deal with one Relationship Manager for corporate loans and to access SMBC’s full range of products and services across the capital structure. CIBC teams include: Media and Telecom; Technology; Health Care; Automotive, Transportation & Mobility; Oil and Gas; Utilities and Power; Diversified Industrials; Consumer and Retail; Real Estate, Leisure and Gaming. Within CIBC, the Lending Management Group (LMG) is responsible for end to end deal execution and portfolio management. The Corporate Solutions Group (CSG) augments our client coverage efforts by generating timely and relevant ideas that provide SMBC’s clients with best-in-class advice and solutions regarding capital structure, ratings, liquidity, debt capacity, M&A finance, and more using a product agnostic approach. Fund Finance Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is a global leader in subscription-secured lending to private equity funds investing across multiple asset classes. SMBC offers financing to investment management firms that seek a flexible and inexpensive form of leverage to employ on closed-end, private equity funds, for either commingled fund partnerships or single investor separate accounts. We manage relationships with over 80 Financial Sponsors, spanning the largest private equity firms globally and a large cross-section of mid-market sponsors. Global Financial Institutions Group (GFIG) The Global Financial Institutions Group offers comprehensive banking solutions to our clients by leveraging the strength of SMBC Group, our products and services, and our global platform. We work closely with product partners across the firm, serving as the primary point of contact for our clients to connect them to the broader SMBC Group, while acting as an advisor to our clients and recommending the best financial products for their needs. Our FIG team is a rising market leader, covering funds, sponsors, and various specialty finance companies Structured Debt SMBC’s Global Structured Finance team is one of the world’s leading project finance powerhouse. We provide debt and equity services to clients globally and have strong market positioning. We provide a variety of financing solutions for large scale infrastructure projects including conventional and renewable power plants, transmission lines, mining, oil and gas facilities, toll roads, ports, airports, bridges and hospitals across US and Canada. Our typical products are structuring of project finance, financial advisory to project developers, long / short term loan to project, large scale underwriting of the loans, bond (144A, US private placement) arrangement, Export Credit Agency financing and M&A.
