Shade Zones is an annual design competition to keep LA cool and moving. Each year, Shade Zones calls for bold, inventive solutions to real-world design challenges that make public spaces cooler, safer, and more inviting. The best ideas are built to last, delivering comfort and resilience for years to come.
ShadeZone design competition participants will receive awards for their designs. Attendees will include USC Architecture students, among others.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
