This presentation by Manjulaa Narasimhan (WHO) will provide an overview of the new WHO normative guideline on self-care interventions, including terminology and approach, and suggest considerations for implementation. The session will include a focus on what self-care interventions means for health systems, how to ensure that traditionally marginalized populations can benefit from them, and why attention to inequalities and human rights must be central to their implementation.

Dr. Manjulaa Narasimhan is a scientist with the World Health Organization Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research, which includes the UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, World Bank Special Programme of Research and Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction. She has been at the forefront of the work to ensure global recognition of the importance of self-care for health and well-being across the world.
