DESCRIPTION:
Sayantani DasGupta is a senior lecturer and founding faculty of the Narrative Medicine Program at Columbia University and the New York Times best-selling author of the critically acclaimed Bengali folktale and string theory–inspired book series Kiranmala and the Kingdom Beyond. Sharing her theory of narrative humility, philosophy of listening, and cases from her varied and interdisciplinary career, DasGupta will amplify the patient’s narrative and encourage clinicians to see the ways that “stories matter” in the medical community and, more specifically, within the clinical encounter.
