#Roski TalksDominic Johnson is Professor of Performance and Visual Culture in the Department of Drama at Queen Mary University of London; and in 2024 he is Fulbright Visiting Professor at Roski School of Art and Design at the University of Southern California. He is the author of four books: Unlimited Action: The Performance of Extremity in the 1970s (2019); The Art of Living: An Oral History of Performance Art (2015); Glorious Catastrophe: Jack Smith, Performance and Visual Culture (2012); and Theatre & the Visual (2012). He is the editor of five books, including Pleading in the Blood: The Art and Performances of Ron Athey (2013). His research has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Fulbright US-UK Commission, Leverhulme Trust, Terra Foundation for American Art, and Paul Mellon Centre for the Study of British Art. In 2024-25 his curated survey exhibition of the work of Hamad Butt tours internationally.
