Dr. Steven Osuna (CSULB) will be leading the Racial Capitalism workshop on Saturday, March 20 from 1-3pm PST.

Dr. Steven Osuna is an assistant professor of Sociology at the California State University at Long Beach. His research interests include racial capitalism, transnationalism, globalization and immigration, policing, militarization, and criminalization, social theory, and cultural studies.

The goal of the workshop is to create a conversation among scholars interested in learning more about racial capitalism. We are approaching the workshop with a growth mindset, meaning that we are all learning and welcome diverse perspectives. Participants are not required to prepare a formal paper but should be prepared to discuss questions and ideas related to the workshop theme that have come up for them through their learning, research, or community work. Your information will be given to the workshop facilitator in advance to help them get a sense of the group dynamics.

Questions can be directed to aseharps@gmail.com.
