About this Event
Join us for presentations from these keynote speakers and from emerging scholars sharing their transportation research.
Keynote Speaker: Senator Fran Pavley
Environmental Policy Director, USC Schwarzenegger Institute
Pavley was elected the first mayor of Agoura Hills in 1982 and served 14 years in the California Assembly and the State Senate. Former State Senator Pavley authored landmark climate policies (AB 1493, AB 32, SB 32, and others) that have created a market for innovation and investment in clean energy and vehicles, which have helped clean up our air, grow the economy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Susan L. Handy
Professor, UC Davis
Dr. Susan Handy's research focuses on the relationships between transportation and land use and on strategies for reducing automobile dependence. Her recent work includes a series of studies on bicycling in Davis. She recently completed projects for the California Air Resources Board and Caltrans on the impacts of “smart growth” strategies on vehicle travel.
