About this Event
Join Dr. Robert Guyker (Lecturer, Sociology Dept, Chapman University) for a discussion on the various ways story-oriented designers have drawn on cultural mythologies to anchor user-experience (UX), product-branding, and mediated environments. Such commercial applications have tended to advance uncritical normative conceptions of myths. In this talk, we consider alternative critical cross-cultural practices informed by a shift away from the problematics of universalist thinking and towards an appeal to an emerging pluriverse.
