Title: Eigenvalue bounds for random matrices via zerofreeness
Abstract: Understanding the spectral radius of a random matrix has been a central theme in the study of random matrices. In this talk, I will describe a new approach to controlling the spectral radius of a random matrix based on zero-counting formulas from complex analysis, which yields sharp up-to-constant bounds for the spectral radius of many well-studied random matrix ensembles under minimal assumptions.
