Virtual Event

An international career doesn’t just happen – it takes research & planning. Knowing yourself & what drives you. And recognizing luck when it happens. This will be an experience-based, pragmatic discussion about these key factors, expectation management & the realities of working outside your home country. We’ll look at what you can do now to explore potential opportunities & prepare yourself. Identify the constraints & highlight transferable skills that could give you an edge. As well as “lessons from the road”- what it’s really like day-day over the years, personally as well as professionally.

Joan Wasylik is an alumnus of USC Annenberg, holding a Masters in Public Relations. A Canadian native, since USC her career has focused on developing & leading communications strategies & teams at blue-chip B2B multinationals, based in Europe. To date, she’s lived in 8 countries and traveled to 45 while working across automotive, energy, food, financial services & medical sectors

I thought that PJ Wasylik & James Farrell had some really great insights into working overseas. She was quite honest in the challenges, and had some tips to assist us into doing some introspection to determine where to start our search.
