PICF '20 Improvisation Workshop with Giovanni Sollima

Wednesday, March 18 at 3:00pm

Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld Symphonic Hall (AES)
3450 Watt Way, Los Angeles, CA 90089

Led by Italian cellist and composer Giovanni Sollima, PICF Fellows are encouraged to express themselves more fluently through their instruments. Sollima, who has been referred to as “the renegade Italian cellist-composer,” directs Fellows through exercises in improvisation, from Baroque style to avant-garde sound exploration. In presenting this workshop, Sollima leads the way to new possibilities for musical expression on the cello.
