Dr. Budney will discuss the addictive potential and adverse consequences of THC-laden cannabis use in parallel with a discussion of the evidence for therapeutic potential of cannabis products. He will highlight the public health importance of developing more effective ways to communicate what is known about the effects of the myriad of cannabinoid products now available. A discussion of the roles of government and industry in shaping public perception of the risk and benefits of cannabis products will illustrate the urgent need for more effective cannabis regulation and much more cannabis regulatory science.
