https://pasadenaliteraryalliance.org/open-book/Join Open Book for an entertaining look at the very first Shakespeare festival in 1769. Andrew McConnell Stott’s What Blest Genius? tells the whole sublime, ridiculous story from the dual perspectives of David Garrick, who masterminded the Jubilee and James Boswell, who attended it.
This very special event features Stott discussing his book with Jeremy Rabb, Resident Artist, Teaching Artist, and acting coach at A Noise Within Theatre, Pasadena. And to make it even more festive, this event will be held on the main stage, amid the color and pageantry of A Winter’s Tale set.
Mingle at a pre-event, hosted happy hour featuring our signature cocktail Jubilee Punch, take in an animated discussion between Stott and Rabb, and conclude with a book signing and dessert reception.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
