Course Description, Program Format and Speakers:
This educational activity emphasizes current trends, professional practice, and other issues in the field of Occupational Therapy. Speakers will discuss practical strategies for integrating research evidence into practice, focusing on overcoming barriers and promoting adoption. The importance of collaboration among occupational therapy practitioners will be highlighted as well as the need for readily accessible evidence, and the value of mentorship and ongoing support in fostering evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence. This theme will be threaded within the context of practice in multiple settings.

Educational Objectives

• Demonstrate how occupational therapy practitioners can effectively partner with researchers to identify relevant research and translate findings into clinical practice

• Demonstrate how occupational therapy researchers can effectively partner with practitioners to identify gaps in clinical practice to develop relevant research questions and design research strategies

• Discuss tools and strategies for accessing, understanding, and communicating research and practice evidence to facilitate integration of value-based occupational therapy practice
