DESCRIPTION:This year’s Navigating the University retreat will be held Mond
 ay\, August 19 and Tuesday\, August 20\, 2019 at the California Science Cen
 ter’s Wallis Annenberg Building in Exposition Park (across the street from 
 USC’s University Park Campus). The event offers new faculty from all discip
 lines\, appointment types and levels the opportunity to learn about campus-
 wide resources available at USC. It’s also a great way to meet fellow facul
 ty from across the university. \n\nThe two-day retreat has three parts:\n\n
 The Office of the Provost’s Navigating the University: New Faculty Onboardi
 ng will take place Monday\, August 19 from 1:00-4:00pm\, and will feature s
 essions on professional development\, teaching and USC culture.\n\nReceptio
 n: Monday\, August 19 from 4:00-5:30pm. Following the presentations\, pleas
 e join Interim Provost\, Elizabeth Graddy and new colleagues for an informa
 l meet and greet over refreshments and appetizers overlooking the Expositio
 n Park Rose Garden.\n\nThe Office of Research’s Navigating the University: 
 Research & Resources Management will take place on Tuesday\, August 20 from
  9:00am-2:30 pm. The Center for Excellence in Research will bring together 
 USC faculty and staff to provide advice and first-hand experiences on resea
 rch strategy\, mentoring\, financial management and budgeting\, clinical re
 search\, and diversity in research. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.\n
