This year’s Navigating the University retreat will be held Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the California Science Center’s Wallis Annenberg Building in Exposition Park (across the street from USC’s University Park Campus). The event offers new faculty from all disciplines, appointment types and levels the opportunity to learn about campus-wide resources available at USC. It’s also a great way to meet fellow faculty from across the university.

The two-day retreat has three parts:

The Office of the Provost’s Navigating the University: New Faculty Onboarding will take place Monday, August 19 from 1:00-4:00pm, and will feature sessions on professional development, teaching and USC culture.

Reception: Monday, August 19 from 4:00-5:30pm. Following the presentations, please join Interim Provost, Elizabeth Graddy and new colleagues for an informal meet and greet over refreshments and appetizers overlooking the Exposition Park Rose Garden.

The Office of Research’s Navigating the University: Research & Resources Management will take place on Tuesday, August 20 from 9:00am-2:30 pm. The Center for Excellence in Research will bring together USC faculty and staff to provide advice and first-hand experiences on research strategy, mentoring, financial management and budgeting, clinical research, and diversity in research. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Please register no later than Friday, July 26.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
