 es that the full realization of autonomous mobility requires a vehicle tha
 t is fully designed for AI to drive and humans to enjoy. The company has b
 een working on its custom vehicle and driving systems since 2014 and is th
 e only company to have purpose-built robotaxis driving on public roads tod
 ay. This talk will focus on why this approach is different from what other
  companies are doing as well as discuss some of the policy challenges face
 d by the industry.\n\n \n\nAbout the Speaker:\n\nPhillip Pierce is Zoox’
 s City Policy Lead\, where he is responsible for city policy and governmen
 t engagement across all US markets for the all-electric\, autonomous vehic
 le company. Prior to joining Zoox\, he managed public affairs and governme
 nt relations at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA)\
 , working on many of San Francisco's largest transportation planning and c
 onstruction projects. He holds a master’s degrees in Public Administrati
 on/Public Policy from the University of Southern California and in Social 
 Work from CalPoly Humboldt. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and so
 n.
