Title: On Weak and Very Weak First-Order Theories
Abstract: We describe results of recent research on formal interpretability between first-order theories of elementary abstract structures formed by integers, sets, sequences, trees, strings, etc., formulated without induction axioms. We situate the motivation for the methodology used in the broader historical and philosophical perspective on the relationship between mathematics and logic.
