ARTIST STATEMENT
PAPA is a multimedia fine art exhibition derived from over 11 hours of biographical interviews with my father.
This exhibition serves as a narrative vessel, unveiling the layers of my father's journey – from his Colombian upbringing, his role as the father of two sons, to the life defining spiritual conversion that guides him today. Our relationship, marred by a blend of love, abandonment, and a disengaged approach to parenthood, has spurred a profound personal quest for understanding the spiritual loss of a loved one.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
