The USC Mrs. T.H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy is pleased to host the 2024 Mark and Semira Moshayedi Innovation Award. This award will be given to a USC Chan graduate student whose innovative work has strong potential to advance the quality of occupational science and/or occupational therapy, to be competitive in a commercial landscape and to result in a positive societal impact. Examples include:

  • Assistive technology and adaptive equipment
  • Digital and mobile health (apps and wearables)
  • Educational technology
  • Ergonomics
  • Gaming, virtual reality, and simulation
  • Healthcare system innovation
  • Program and service line development
  • Screening, assessment, and measurement
  • Telehealth/telemedicine
  • Universal Design and accessibility

Applicants will be evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges, and finalists will pitch their work at the April 11 finals. The award recipient will be announced at the 2024 Chan Division Commencement Ceremony.

Eligibility: All USC occupational science and occupational therapy graduate students

Award: $5,000 award will be presented at the 2024 Commencement ceremony

Deadline: Proposal materials are due by March 28 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific). If selected as a finalist, presentations are due by April 9 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific).
